MILESTONE 1: Analysis of at least 20 recent and relevant literature sources

This Milestone document, “Analysis of at least 20 recent and relevant literature sources”, aims to provide an overview of how the driving impairments identified in the PANACEA project (alcohol, licit and illicit drugs, fatigue/sleepiness, stress and cognitive load) can be effectively monitored and assessed. This was achieved by conducting a review of relevant and recent literature per impairment. Where possible, the findings were attributed to driving context, that is measuring the impairment before driving, during driving or at the roadside. Information relating to relevant indicators and technologies is also included in the review tables (Tables 1, 4-8). In addition, a review of how some of the specified impairments impact driving performance is included.
